What happened

Ant Group holds a stake in the Philippines' Mynt (the parent company of GCash, a joint venture with Globe Telecom and Ayala Corporation), and has exported Alipay's AI risk-control engine AlphaRisk to GCash: in June 2020, GCash announced the adoption of an upgraded version of AlphaRisk to strengthen real-time anti-fraud and risk management, achieving a fraud loss rate below 0.64 per ten million, leveraging more than 200 algorithms under AutoPilot to automatically adjust risk-control strategies.

Sources & notes

Record note: Verified: Mynt is a three-way joint venture among Ant Group, Ayala, and Globe (via 917Ventures), established with a Chinese-invested background. The original BitPinas article mentions only Alipay and does not reference Ant Group/Mynt; therefore, the equity-stake section must be separately sourced. entry_year = 2020 refers to the year AlphaRisk technology was deployed, not the year Ant acquired its stake (circa 2017).
