How to read these numbers: A purposive, publicly sourced case library, not a probability sample: counts describe the library, not market share. Monetary figures mix investment, revenue and user metrics — treat them as magnitude markers and defer to the verbatim description and source link.

What happened

Alibaba Cloud entered the Philippine market in 2019, and on June 8, 2021, announced that it would complete the Philippines' first data center in Manila within the year, offering capabilities such as elastic computing, databases, security, networking, and machine learning and data analytics, and serving industries including fintech, e-commerce, education, and media. Prior to this, in 2020, it launched the 'Philippines Ecosystem Alliance' to support the government's 'Cloud First' policy, and committed to training 50,000 local IT talents and helping 5,000 enterprises migrate to the cloud by 2023.

Localisation & innovation

A localized data center aligned with the Philippine government's 'Cloud First' policy; cloud migration support and customized local-team services for the large number of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)

Sources & notes

Record note: A second data center in the Philippines was announced in July 2025 (going live in October). 依据:去重后仅 3 条 URL(other_sources_text 第 3 项与 source_url 连 ?_p_lc=1 参数都逐字相同,n_sources 由 4 修正为 3),底层事实源头只有 2021-06-08 Alibaba Cloud Summit 2021 同一场发布会。官方通稿为当事企业自家 Press Room,全篇未来时(plans to build / will be constructed / by the end of this year);Rappler(Gelo Gonzales 署名)与 BusinessWorld(Arjay L. Balinbin 署名)确为独立一手采写,但同样只报道了这场发布会的「宣布」,支撑「已落地」的独立来源为 0。
