Alibaba Cloud deployed its City Brain platform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- City Brain's first expansion beyond Greater China (an agreement had already been signed with Macau in August 2017) -- with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). Reported deployment figures are media-reported rather than company-disclosed.
On 13 August 2025, on the opening day of the ASEAN AI Summit 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Huawei Cloud held the Huawei Cloud AI Ecosystem Summit APAC. Huawei Malaysia announced, with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in attendance, a three-year commitment to train 30,000 Malaysian AI professionals and cultivate 200 local AI partners — a forward-looking pledge, not work already delivered. Huawei Cloud additionally lists a Kuala Lumpur region code (AP-Kuala Lumpur-OP6 / my-kualalumpur-1) in its own SDK region table; no third-party source located to date confirms an operating local node.
北京自动驾驶物流企业新石器（Neolix）被马来西亚交通部（MOT）列入首批获准在国家监管沙盒（National Regulatory Sandbox, NRS）框架下开展无人配送车公共道路测试的企业。路测将于2026年下半年分阶段进行，地点以赛城（Cyberjaya，马来西亚 MyAV 约7公里公共道路测试路线所在地）为主并覆盖其他若干地点，涵盖封闭道路、半开放与公共道路环境。本地联合体包括 Tiong Nam Logistics、Asia Mobiliti（Trek 运营方）与 MindHub，评估快递包裹配送、园区物流与电商即时履约等用例。
